4 Ways To Get Better Results From A Borescope

Posted by on Jun 25, 2015 in Uncategorized |

Your borescope is designed to give you the most accurate view into the inner workings of an aircraft and engine. However, there are adjustments you can make while using it to ensure that you get the best inspection results possible. Here are some tips for improving the results from your borescope. Choose the Right Borescope There are several types of borescopes available and each one is designed to do specific jobs better than the others. Selecting the right borescope for your inspection can help ensure the accuracy of your results. For instance, a flexible borescope, otherwise known as a fiberscope, is best when you need extra flexibility to maneuver through a myriad of turns and twists. By contrast, a rigid borescope can provide you with the best image in areas that do not require flexibility. Pay Attention to the Lighting The amount of light in the area can have an impact on the results of the inspection. If you are in an area that is brightly lit, artificially or naturally, you need to wait a few seconds before attempting to conduct an inspection. Your eyes need time to adjust to the change from bright light to the darker images that are portrayed through the borescope. Be Aware of the Available Space Sometimes, features such as depth of field and field of view, can be distorted or misinterpreted when using the borescope. This can lead to problems, such as moving the scope in closer than it needs to be and damaging it by hitting it against a part of the aircraft or engine. Not only are mistakes time-consuming, but they can result in expenses related to repairing the borescope or an engine part. When conducting an inspection, you need to be mindful of the space that you have. Even though you want to continue to move in closer to get a more accurate inspection of the parts, you should avoid it if you are uncertain of the room you have. You can instead re-position the scope and try a different angle to get a closer look. Maintain the Articulation Cables An important part of your borescope is the articulation cable. The cable helps in transmitting the images that you see. If the cable is damaged or has stress on it, the images can be distorted or you might experience a lag in receiving images. To resolve this issue, ensure that you are maintaining your cable. Part of that is repositioning the guide occasionally to alleviate the stress on the cable and occasionally lubricating the cable. Your borescope dealer can recommend a good brand of lubricating oil to use on the cable. Taking steps, such as maintaining the articulating cable, is essential to receiving the best results from your borescope. Talk to your dealer about other things you can do to improve your results....

Need Hearing Aids? 3 Ways Hearing Aids Give You An Advantage

Posted by on Jun 19, 2015 in Uncategorized |

If you just found out you need hearing aids, and you are worried that hearing aids will limit your hearing and your ability to interact with others, stop worrying! Wearing hearing aids actually gives you a few advantages that individuals with normal hearing do not have. Here are the top three advantages of wearing hearing aids. Your Hearing Aids Can Make Sound More Understandable There have been numerous advantages in hearing aid technology over the years. Modern hearing aids not only allow you to hear the sounds around you that your ears are not able to pick-up on, it also allows you to hear sounds more clearly. This will make it easier for you to understand what people around you are saying in all situations.  You Will Be Able To More Clearly Hear Induction Loops In Public Spaces When out in public, you will be able to hear induction loops more clearly. Induction loops are the information that is conveyed over speakers in stadiums, theaters and on public transportation. When everyone around you is scratching their heads and asking, “What did they say?”,  you will be able to help them out. Modern hearing aids are designed to help you zone in on induction loop sounds. This means that the sound will be amplified and clearer for you than for all the normal hearing people around you. In public settings, you’ll actually have better hearing due to your hearing aids than everyone around you. In Crowds, You’ll Be Able To Understand Those You Are With Better When out and about with your friends and family in large crowds, you will easily be able to hear what is being said. Once again, people without hearing loss may have to strain to understand what the person next to them is saying over the sounds of the crowd. However, you’ll be able to hear them just fine. Modern hearing aids are designed to push the background noise away, and bring the noise you want to hear into focus. You’ll be able to more easily pick up and hear the voices of your friends and family. Your hearing aids actually provide you with many benefits that regular hearing individuals do not have. People’s voices will sound clearer to you than to others. You will also be able to pick up on induction loops when out in public easier, and you will have an easier time focusing on what your friends and family are saying to you when you are in a crowd. Hearing aids allow you to hear clearer and easier in crowded situations than your ears can all on their own. Contact a professional hearing facility, like Hearing Solutions Audiology Center, for more information on your hearing aids. Getting hearing aids will not limit your life; they will expand your...

Making Your First Album

Posted by on Jun 9, 2015 in Uncategorized |

Making your first musical album is an exciting process, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. While you’re working, there are a few things that you can add to the journey to make your album more successful.  Find Your Aesthetic If you listen to the discographies of many successful musicians, you may notice that the first album was choppy or different from later work. That’s a good indicator that the musician hadn’t found their unique sound yet. Even when you’re starting out, you can benefit from thinking about what makes you stand out as a musician, and make sure that all of your first album’s songs match that mold.  Pace Yourself There are few things more nerve-racking than working on that first album when you know you have something great to share. But know that it’s okay for the process to take even a year; this is quite normal. During this time, pace yourself to keep working and refining your songs rather than hurrying to push them out more quickly.  Hype It Up Marketing is a lot of what makes musicians successful. As a beginning musician with nothing to show for yourself, you may be reluctant to start marketing. But this can be something casual, such as talking with people you meet about how excited you are for your project. You may start social media pages and release your music little by little. The point is to get the word out there somehow.  Get Feedback Asking for help is painful for artists of all stages. Music is such a personal process, but it’s wise to get some feedback from other musicians or writers. If you’re the only one who sees your work before the album is released, you may be missing a blatantly obvious way to improve your album.  Spring for a Recording Studio If you are serious about making music, do set aside the money to get a professional recording studio. The album will stay on your “record” for life, so if you have poor quality audio on your early tracks, your fans won’t thank you down the road. If you can’t afford this on your own, you might want to consider crowdfunding or asking friends and family to help. If you have questions about what a recording studio can offer, get in touch with someone at a studio like Poll Sound. While your album can never be perfect or completely finished, the ideas above can help you start thinking about your own process and where you want to go from here. Hopefully there will be some fun along the way,...
